BootybootybootybootybootyAHEM. Layle is a butt! Literally and figuratively, but I can’t help but love him. He’s suave and sometimes accidentally debonair… and in some ways, he reminds me of my own ancestors from Ireland. His headstrong stubbornness makes him one of my favorite heroes ever. He is an unlikely hero, maybe he’s not even a hero at all, but the way in which he saves the world and still manages to keep going on his quest is really different for a FF game — but I liked his story a lot. His game is so underrated… I’m going to patiently wait for a sequel.
A mirror. -cough-
Okay, seriously. I will never not ship Layphie. It’s my OTP 5ever and no silly fights nor ~~drama~~ will ever break my heart. Even that little trolling thing you guys did, HMPH! I will always root for them to be together, but it’ll probably take until we’re all 50 years old for it to really happen.
To some extent, he probably has feelings for Belle. It’s hard to tell what he feels. It could be that same flirtatious thing we see with Althea and Keiss. (Come on, he tooootally flirts with all of them. Even Cid. HAHA!)
Amidatelion. She is the catalyst for his characterization. Changing him in a way that retains his unique antihero attitude, but helps him change the future of unifying all four races. I love their interactions and the fact that she teaches him so much, even against his will. I think he’s able to move on from that situation because of her sacrifice. He finally does something for someone else and I think that’s really beautiful.
Keiss. Although it borderlines on romantic sometimes, it is a tried and true bromance to the very core. One we haven’t seen in recent FF games and I wish there was more of. Their brotherly love is a wonderful thing, they have this distinct understanding of each other that literally no other character could ever grasp. They might even know the other more than they know themselves.
Layle cares about something more than himself. He just hasn’t found it yet. That’s what keeps him going.
A SEQUEL WOULD BE REALLY NICE. TIA, GET WRITING ON IT. GO GO GO!
